New Foundation Love!

I have fallen deeply in love...with a new foundation. As I recently told a friend that asked for tips with choosing a foundation, it's a lot of trial and error. I currently have at least 6 different foundations, some that work, some that suck ass, and some that work well enough for me to use them. But this recent one was purchased on a whim and at none other than the freaking dollar store.
Anyone who visits the dollar store knows that when brand name makeup is sold there it most likely means that the product is discontinued and they are relieving the volume. So in other words...they just sell the stuff for $1.
The foundation I found was L'Oreal's HIP flawless liquid makeup. I love this stuff so much, it came out a few years ago with the HIP line and I am a fan of the line itself I just never bothered to try out the foundation. The crap was almost 10 bucks and I couldn't rationalize spending it on something I knew nothing about.
In case you cant remember what it looks like:
This foundation actually caters to what your skin undertone may be, yellow or red. It is geared more towards women of color so it becomes easy to find your shade. I have super oily skin and this crap stays ALL DAY. I  only have to blot once but other than that the staying power is there especially once you set it. Stays matte and looks natural. The most natural foundation I have!
So here comes the tears!! This product is DISCONTINUED!! I got lucky finding my shade at my local dollar tree and now I have to go back and try to find more of my shade because it's no longer in normal stores.
This is worth a try! Go and find it if you have ever wondered about it, it won't be more than $2.

Makeupalley also has good reviews on it:

Love is in the Air!

Well...not everywhere but I have an actual love/hate relationship with this damn holiday we call Valentine's Day. It can be so superficial and consumer driven and all of a sudden the good cards are taken at CVS and dudes at the florists are buying bouquets for both their girlfriend and their hoe on the side!!
Or if you are single somehow you must be sad that you don't have anyone to share it with...just because "they" said so! But on the other hand if you are on the other end of the spectrum and have a significant other then you end up expecting some sort of gift. It's somehow wired in our brains from childhood or some shit, I don't know.
So anyway...I made a smokey eye look for those of us that plan on getting down that night and want to look all sultry and stuff. And if you happen to fall asleep with the eye makeup on you will still look good!
Products used:
Maybelline Superstay Silky foundation in 'Dark 3'
E.L.F. Mineral Booster in 'Tinted'
E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow in 'Seductive'
E.L.F. Eyebrow kit in 'Dark'
Maybelline Expertwear eyeshadow in 'creme de cocoa'
L.A. Colors Concealer (as base) in 'Beige'
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen in 'Blackest Black'
NK Eye Pencil in 'Black"
Black Radiance Sheer Blush in 'Spiced Ginger'
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipgloss in 'Sandstone Shimmer'
So to all the single people, relationship people, and all those in between; Happy Valentine's Day!

When the bf is away it's time for play and a spa day!

Today is a rare Saturday that I have to myself without my boyfriend around so I decided to just do whatever the hell I wanted and pamper myself...on a budget of course!
For starters I washed and treated my hair to a good deep conditioning and a roller set with the ever so wonderful Pantene Relaxed and Natural shampoo and conditioner plus for the deep conditioning I used Profectiv  Mega Growth 'Growth Conditioner.
All of these products are so freaking good, I was hooked on Pantene's r&n line when it first hit the shelves and I am forever faithful, whenever I try other products I return to this line. The smell is heavenly, a little goes a long way and produces a nice lather and is specially made for me. It doesn't tangle my hair and improves the overall strength.
The deep conditioner is a new product for me, and I can honestly say I love this stuff soo much. I leave it in and sit under a dryer after my initial wash.
This woman has a good review on it here:

After the hair was finished I decided to use my tried and true Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, anyone who has acne prone skin like me or anyone that wants to pamper themselves with a great mask that actually works  needs to use this ASAP! I was going to post a picture of myself wearing the mask but I thought it might have been too scary...

Now it was time for at home pedicure and for the scrubbing of my lil monsters I used Ms.Pedicure's Sweet Feet set of Mint Scrub and matching lotion. I'm going all out on this one so the polish color will be Sally Hansen's X-treme wear in Mello Yellow.
There is nothing mellow about this yellow! It's bright and happy, just how I want to feel after this relaxing day.
If I can manage to get this done before too late in the night I'll post a picture of my nails with some konad art.

GOODBYE 2010

I would like to take a moment to say farewell  to 2010... GOODBYE AND GTFO!! lol It was nice while it lasted but this love affair is long over, although you brought me many cheers, tears, and fears I've had quite enough. All good things must come to an end as they say and with that I took the time to review some beauty related things that were 2010 specific.
But let me be clear, after this I sure as heck won't be looking back! 2011 you can be with me for a little while. :P
