Life Lessons: Other people in your relationship / business

This has been bugging me for the past 2 days so I had to make a video about it, but if you don't feel like watching the entire video the just of it is as follows; a family member severely criticized my current relationship based on unfair assumptions when I never asked them their opinion at all. On top of that the opinions were very insulting and hurtful.
Basically I talk about this incident in the video and how you have to keep your relationships on lock, and keep the happenings of said relationship to yourself. Other people will suddenly be so much in your own relationship you no longer have your own thoughts about situations.
Plus it will often lead to others projecting their own feelings on your stuff, as in since their relationship is going bad then yours is going horrible too.
No one else can possibly know what are the inner workings of your personal relationships and that is the way it should stay, no one else should be involved except God. Just another life lesson I had to learn. Not everyone, even family, has your best interest in mind.
Here is the video

In a green mood...

Lately I've been into painting my nails in bright colors and the most recent shades have all been some sort of green. Its the holidays and so began the hoarding of multiple shades of green nail polishes!! The first one I'll be showing is from Sally Hansen's Xtreme wear nail color line in "The Real Teal". As the name implies its supposed to be a teal color but in different light it sometimes looks green or even more blue. Either way I love it and its festive. The formula for this line of polishes is great btw; not thin and not too thick and awesome pigmentation and I'll continue to buy from this particular Hard as Nails section.
 Here's what they look like.

Here they are in more of daylight.

I'll be changing my nail color weekly to feature my other green polishes. Until then,

Odd Inspiration

Recently I have been going to other outlets for fashion inspiration. One of my favorites is Japanese culture and the fashion of the young adults that live there. Never afraid to mix prints and patters and accessories galore. The entire outfit may look like a costume to some but I find it intriguing. No two styles are ever alike even if they are said to be in the same "genre".
My main website I visit when I want to view some of this odd but fascinating fashion is http://www.japanesestreets.com/. Everyday there is a post featuring a regular person stopped on the street and asked if photos can be taken. When fashion week rolls around they even feature pictures of the runway fashions.  Both men and women are included.
Here are some of my favorites.

Rock What You Got!

I feel like I always talk about the Torrid brand on this blog but considering it is one of the few retailers that tailors to a plus sized woman completely and is continuously on trend. So today they have announced the newest winners of the 2010 House of Dreams contest that they have annually. They are all gorgeous and seem to be down to earth. Plus the photo shoot looked fab! Take a look!

Lazy Saturdays...

As today is a very uneventful lazy Saturday I have decided to indulge in a very shameless marathon of America's Next Top Model, and devour my recent magazine subscriptions I haven't had a chance to get to. I love to go page by page and see all that these current issues have to offer in the world of fashion and beauty.
So as I wait for the booski to come over later for dinner and a movie, I'm fine just where I am; alone snuggled up with ANTM and five lush mags.

Black Friday Deals!!

As many of my fellow fashionable sisters go out to hit the stores today, I hope they are going to the important spots like Torrid and Fashion to Figure. First of all, Torrid is having a huge 60%-88% discount on all of clearance in store AND online! That alone would make stalking torrid.com and rushing the store worth it, but they are also having a sale on all items. $25 off of $75, $50 off of $150, and $100 off of $300. Everything is included until 1pm!! So go and check it out, and please remember to go early; you know how big girls can get. :P

Fashion to Figure is having a smaller sale of 40% off you entire purchase before noon, then after noon it is 25% off. This may not seem like much but considering FTF clothes are cheaper than Torrid you end up practically spending nothing.

Unfortunately I doubt I will be participating in either of these sales as funds are sparse, but maybe I'll give my Discover card a work out. :)

What's in my bag!

I really love watching the "What's in my bag" videos on youtube and I've decided to do one of my own on the blog! Some of my favorites include the following...

These chicks are my absolute faves and with that said here is what's in my own purse!!

Here is everything dumped on out, no planning just what came falling out.

The pink pouch is my makeup bag I guess. I have a few lip glosses some lotion, a compact, face powder, and hand sanitizer.

The black bag contains all my "just in case" items like the Dove face washing clothes, more hand sanitizer, a crisis kit, extra lotion, contacts holder, air freshener, a pen, aloe, a perfume block, and some mints!

My wallet car keys and zune.
And finally my pencil case with too many pencils and random pens.

Now that I've laid all this crap out on my bed I realize how much I have stuffed into that bag of mine, but then I just move on and shove it all back in because all that crap will come in handy....someday. :)

Torrid's Notorious 50% Off Sale!!

Any plus sized girl with a smidge of style has heard of or purchased fabulous clothing from the store Torrid. Any plus sized girl will also know how the prices at Torrid are a bit on the steep side, but this should not be a surprise since big girl clothing always costs more than what skinny chicks will buy. :/
But every now and then Torrid gives us a break with their very popular half of clearance sale, they usually do these when seasons change and they need to get rid of stock. This time the sale is online and in-store so if you are wary of ordering online and would prefer to go to a store you can do that too, but I must warn you that the clearance section will not be on point like online!! Shop with discretion!
The half off clearance sale usually never has a end date so if you want something buy it right then and there, you never know when the sale will end! I'm stocking up on my own shit and so should you!! Big girls unite for the sale!!

Fall is in the air

Today I woke up and it suddenly hit me...its Fall!! My absolute favorite time of year, the leaves are changing colors, there is a wonderful crisp feeling outside, and most of all it means its time for fall fashion and makeup. Also, it means girls are forced to put actual clothes on rather than wearing the bare minimum...some chicks just have no class.
With that said, I was inspired by the colors of the leaves outside and decided to do a makeup look. So here it is start to finish, hope you like and happy fall to all!

First I applied my Revlon foundation, then I fix those brows of mine.

A gold color is applied to the inner third of my eye.

Then a orange-ish color is applied to the rest of the lid.

I use brown to blend out the edges and into the highlight I'll be using next.

Liner and mascara is next

Finally, lip gloss

These are all the colors I used from some Covergirl quad

All the stuff used

OOTD Casual and Blue

Today I woke up feeling a little blue...so what else was I to do besides throw on a real outfit, jump in the car, and go. I'm sorta kinda feeling the military trend and that's easy to see in today's threads.

Here is the overall look

I love details like buttons, they always make a difference

This jacket is comfy jersey knit but also has the military vibe

Earrings add an element of interest with the knit pattern, plus a scarf is a must

A top down view of my leggings and  Uggies...trust me, idc if you think these are the ugliest shoes in the world...I'm gonna wear the shit out of em.

How I wish on the brightest star in the sky for a wall length mirror, this will have to do

That's all I have for today, stay phat and fabulous

And so it begins....

phat

1. cool 2. Pretty Hot And Tempting
As you have read above, "phat" is how I will be describing all that I hoard and of course myself in this blog. It is also a play on words because I happen to be a plus sized chick. When I say "hoard" I don't mean that kind of hoarding you see on cable networks with fat old people that have tons of nasty old and definitely not "phat" things lying around their home unused and crawling with roaches. Hoarding to me and to many other young women with the fashion bone in their bodies simply means to purchase a significant amount of items to continually add to our collection that resides in our ever-overflowing closets. There is never too much, and honestly why should there be? Even when my closet starts to regurgitate all my purchases, getting rid of stuff won't be my first instinct. lol It will be more of a hunt for more closet space. Don't get me wrong I wear all of my clothing, I just don't see anything wrong with adding to the closet/vanity family.
If you are still reading...I commend you, that means you are actually interested in this just as much as I am and have a hoarding situation of your own. On this blog I will share with you my current hoarding obsessions, fashion web obsession, OOTDs (outfits of the day) and other things I feel are Phat Fashion worthy.
So indulge if you dare into all that is Phat and lovely because I intend to share.

XOXO
